Kópavogur

Kopavogur lies to the south of Reykjavík and, with 27,000 inhabitants, is the second largest town in Iceland.

The main sites of interest to visitors include Kopavogur church, Gerdarsafn Art Museum, Natural History Museum and Salurinn Concert Hall. These are all just a short bus ride away from Reykjavik city centre. Kopavogur also boasts two thermal pools and one of the two main shopping centres in the capital area, Smaralind.

From Kopavogur there are beautiful views of the seas, mountains and Reykjavík, and it’s a great place to watch the fireworks on New Year’s Eve!
