Travel around Reykjavík

Please note that you should take special care when travelling on minor roads, which may be rougher, narrower, and far more hazardous than you are used to. Special care must be taken when driving in the highlands, where rivers are unbridged and can be dangerous. Respect speed limitations and slow down when the road changes from tarmac to gravel, to a single-lane bridge, when crossing rivers or driving through snow. Outside the summer season, always seek information on weather and road conditions before driving out into the country. Off-road driving is illegal in Iceland. More
