Reykjavík Easter 2012

Easter is just around the corner and Visit Reykjavik has compiled a list of opening hours of various services around the Easter holidays. The list can be viewed here.

Many restaurants and museums, the famous Blue Lagoon, Reykjavík Family Park & Zoo, Laugardalslaug and Arbaejarlaug thermal pools, and more stay open during the Easter holidays. Organised tours will be running as usual throughout the holidays too.
For more detailed information, click on the link above. And have a good look at our website and event calendar to make the most of your trip.
The Reykjavík Tourist Information Centre will stay open every day from 10:00-16:00

Here are our tips for making the most out of a trip to Reykjavik at Easter time:

• Get excellent value for money with the Reykjavík Welcome Card - providing you with access to museums, thermal pools and public transport in addition to a range of discounts!

• Pay a visit to the Laugardalur Valley - a favourite destination for families, with its large thermal pool Laugardalslaug, Reykjavík Family Park & Zoo, Botanical Gardens and Skating Rink.

• Go on one of the many excellent organised tours operating from Reykjavík (pick-up often available from major hotels). Among tours on offer are the classic "Golden Circle" sightseeing tours and more activity-based tours including horse riding or glacier tours. See our Tours & Activities section for more information.

• Visit some of Reykjavík's excellent museums. The Culture House and Settlement Exhibition Reykjavík 871 +/-2 will be open all Easter, and many other museums are open part of the Easter holidays. See our Arts & Culture section for more information.

• Eat lots of chocolate Easter eggs!
