Hallgrímskirkja, standing bright and clear on a hill downtown, is the landmark of Reykjavík. The church, being the biggest church in Iceland, has the grand Klais-organ which attracts many of the world's best organists. Hallgrímskirkja is known for it's musical scene and hosts a summer music festival called International Organ Summer with four concerts every week during the summertime. Organ recitals are every Sunday at 17.00 (5pm) and at 12 noon on Thursdays and Saturdays. Every Wednesday noon at 12.00 the chamber choir Schola cantorum Reykjavicensis sings Icelandic a capella music.
