Gunnar Hersveinn holds a BA-degree in philosophy and psychology and in journalism. He has written books of poetry, plays and some nonfiction works, such as Gæfuspor – gildin í lífinu / Values in Life in 2005 and Orðspor – gildin í samfélaginu / Values in Society in 2008. Gunnar Hersveinn has worked as a reporter and as a teacher at high schools and the Icelandic Arts Academy. He has received numerous awards for his writings on social matters, peace culture, education and ethics.
