Iceland is the Safest Country to Travel to for the 6th Year Running!
With terrorism at an all time high and global unrest threatening to impact destinations across the world, choosing a safe place to visit is a top priority for holidaymakers.
If you're looking to book a low-risk vacation but don't know where to begin, based on the recently released Global Peace Index (GPI) ranking, the Institute for Economics and Peace has charted the world's safest destinations. Balancing several factors, the GPI ranked 163 countries globally with Iceland claiming the top spot for the sixth year running while the UK was ranked 47th and the US limped in at 103.
Out of the 163 countries considered, Iceland came top for the sixth year running aided by its low murder rate and small population. The country spends $242million (£164million) on violence, which is substantially smaller than other places.
