The Icelandic Design Award 2016

As We Grow received the Icelandic Design Award 2016 and Geysir received the award for Best Investment in Design in a ceremony at Culture House now in October. Now in their third year, the awards play an important role in recognizing the importance and increasing the appreciation of the best Icelandic design today.

 

As We Grow is owned and run by textile designer Guðrún Ragna Sigurjónsdóttir, fashion designer María Th. Ólafsdóttir and managing director Gréta Hlöðversdóttir. In their collections, the company combines tradition and modern day demands, aesthetics and durable clothing that both grows with the child and lasts between generations.

 

Geysir received the award for Best Investment in Design 2016. The company has worked with all parts of its business with outstanding designers, be it to do with the brand, images, store interiors, graphic design or fashion. 

 

 

The Icelandic Design Award is given out once a year by the Iceland Design Centre in collaboration with the Iceland Academy of the Arts, the Museum of Design and Applied Art, Landsvirkjun, The Confederation of Icelandic Employers and the Federation of Icelandic Industries.
