Reykjavík Rescue Tour Wins Award

Travel agency Iceland Travel was rewarded last week for its innovative tour “Reykjavik to the Rescue”.

The agency won the Seatrade Insider “Innovative Shorex of the Year Award” 2011 for their exclusive 4-hour shore excursion that highlights the amazing contribution of Iceland’s Search and Rescue Teams. (Landsbjörg)

The award was presented in front of a lively crowd during the Seatrade Europe Welcome Party held at the Schmidts Tivoli Theatre located on Hamburg’s colourful Reeperbahn.The award was accepted on behalf of Iceland Travel by a delighted Liz Gammon, Manager of Shore Excursions and Cruise services.

The runners up were:
Crystal Cruises - ‘ANIQUEM Burn Rehabilitation Centre’ (Peru)
Tura Turizm – ‘Lost, But not Forgotten’ (Turkey)

Seatrade Europe is the biennial meeting place and trade platform of the European cruise industry, bringing together senior buyers and planners from the cruise lines with suppliers from all sectors of the ocean and river cruise industries for focused business interaction with conference, exhibition, travel agent programmes and networking social events.
