Reykjavik Classics in Harpa Summer 2017

Iceland´s award-winning concert hall Harpa proudly presents Reykjavik Classics in Eldborg summer 2017. This unique concert series is now in its second year and is indeed a welcome addition to the vibrant scene of arts and culture in the Capital. Reykjavik Classics features live classical music performed by artists of the highest caliber in “one of the ten best concert halls of the new millennium.”

Reykjavik Classics began on June 26th and runs until August 16th with two concerts every day, at 12:30 and 15:30. Each concert lasts for a total of 30 minutes without intermission. The program offers representative masterworks from the classical repertoire including Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann and Mendelssohn and the performing artists are leading soloists from the Iceland Symphony and the Icelandic Opera. Artistic director of Reykjavik Classics is pianist Nína Margrét Grímsdóttir.

The concerts are a great opportunity to experience the unique hall with great artists and acoustic classical music. It's duration of 30 minutes allows travelers and locals to easily include a concert into the day scedule. Admission is ISK 2900 / around 25 EUR, there are also available special discount packages which include a tour of Harpa. 

This week´s program, July 3-9, features Mendelssohn String Quartet Op. 12/1 performed by an international ensemble of young artists, violinists Joaquin Páll Palomares and Vera Panitch, violist Jevgenija Frolova and cellist Johan Krarup (see PR photo in attachment)
