Reykjavík Pride 2013!

Every summer we celebrate Gay Pride in Reykjavík and dedicate the festival to the LGBT people in Iceland, to their battles, pioneering spirit and joyous achievements. The history of Reykjavík Pride can be traced back to 1993, but ever since 1999 the festival has been an annual event.

Gay Pride has grown from being a one-day gathering of 1500 participants, to a six-day human rights and cultural celebration, attended by up to 90.000 guests.

This year, the festivities begin on Tuesday August 6th and end on Sunday August 11th. As usual, the schedule is a colourful one and designed to honour human rights and a varied culture, both in Iceland as well as in other parts of the world. The centrepiece of Pride is the Pride Parade which marches from Vatnsmýrarvegur to Lækjartorg on Saturday August 10. At the end of the parade, Reykjavík Pride invites every one of our guests to an Outdoor Concert at Arnarhóll hill, like we do every year.
