Seaman´s Day Celebrations this Weekend

Don´t miss the Seaman´s Day celebrations in Reykjavík this weekend. This is a festival which has been held annually throughout Iceland´s coastline towns and villages since 1938. The festival honours all those that work at sea and in fisheries in Iceland.

In Reykjavík the festival goes under the Name, Festival of the Sea. This is a family festival with diverse events taking place from Saturday morning until Sunday afternoon at Reykjavíks Grandagarður, also known as West Harbour. Guests can enjoy sailing, sea swimming, various entertainments and a large variety of sea creatures on display in tubs.
