Movie screening | The Vasulka Effect

Hrafnhildur is a multi-award winning filmmaker and has particularly attracted attention for her documentaries about Icelandic society and culture. With the film Vasulka effect (2019), she sheds light on the life and artistic creation of Steina and Woody Vasulka as pioneers in video art.

The film has received international recognition and was selected as documentary of the year at the Edda Awards. Through close collaboration with Steina, Hrafnhildur succeeds in highlighting the influence of the Vasulkas on the development of contemporary art and digital media, both in Iceland and globally.

The movie will be screened in Hafnarhús 22nd – 23rd of November.

Admission with museum ticket. Free for Annual pass- and Culture Card holders, free for visitors under 18.
